What to do if your lead is NEVER EVER HOME!

What do you do if you have a prospect that is NEVER home?  You stop by a dozen times and call but still nothing.  Here is what you do... 

Every week I take out my 25-35 leads and work the hell out of them.  By the time I've finished working two or three days in the field, I have gone through the majority of my leads.  However, there are always 2-8 people who I can't ever seem to catch home.  I knock on their door at 9am, 2pm, and 8pm, but I never catch them home.  


So what do we do with somebody who simply is never home? 


 Step 1:  Call them between the hours of  8- 9:00 p.m..  Leave a message if necessary and if they don't call you back... try this

Step 2:   Take out your business card or your sticky note and write on it, 
"Sally, Call me.  It's important -Cody  555-555-5555." 


 Leave that on their door and they will call you back.  Sometimes it takes a few hours and sometimes it will take several days but 9/10 they will call you back.  Now, some of you may be thinking to yourself "but Cody isn't that a little bit sneaky?"  And to that I reply... certainly NOT!  You bet your fanny it's important... it's important to me that I find you so I can stop wasting my time, knocking on your door.   If you do this, they will call you back and  you can at least talk to the person on the phone and tell them what it's about or try and set an appointment.   


Try it you will be surprised how well it works or, on the other hand, don't try and keep wasting hours driving to the doors of people who you know won't answer or are not home.
