What to do if you  double booked yourself

Wouldn't it be nice if we always had the problem of double booking ourselves?  Yes, it would.  Believe it or not, but you will have this problem and the better you sell... the more often it will happen.

Here is a list of scenarios that you might find yourself in:
  • You scheduled two appointment for the same time
  • Your last appointment went over and there is no way you can squeeze in the next
  • Pick one of million personal things that could happen that would prevent you from making an appointment (dog died, sick kid, ingrown toenail)
If you find yourself in one or all of the previous examples, you are going to have to reschedule.  To do so all you have to do is call and try and set it up for a different time.  If you call and there is no answer, then you must leave a message giving brief details as to why you cant make it and tell them you will try back in a day or two.

What you CANT do is NOTHING.  Even in a market that frequently forgets set appointment, simply ignoring an appointment will get you nothing but a lot of really mad prospects.  People are busy and they deserve a call.  They will forgive you if you screw up and have to reschedule, they wont forgive you if they missed their weekly Bridge game because they waited for you and you didn't show.
