Telephone Scripts and Sample CallsI don't want to overwhelm you will several scripts to choose from for your appointment/phone needs. Therefor, I am going to give you ONE script to memorize and use. "Why only one choice?"... you ask... BECAUSE IT WORKS! After 1,000's of appointment setting phone calls, this script has proved to be the most effective. It's not the only option but it work the largest percentage of the time.
In order for the phone script to work, you MUST follow it WORD FOR WORD! You MUST use the EXACT INTONATIONS AND RATE OF SPEECH I use. It is simple, quick and to the point. Its generic enough to set a lot of appointments but specific enough to not waste time. Here is it: Phone Script Mary? This is Cody Shirley getting back with you on that card you mailed in a few weeks ago; on that supplement for the social security death benefit program... for the final expenses... I'm going be in City Name tomorrow trying to catch up with everybody who mailed that in and i'm going to be in the neighborhood around 10:00 o' clock or around 2 o'clock, which time would work best for you? |
Response #1: Yes
If your prospect replies with a time, then you simple say, "Alright, we will put you down for 10:00 o'clock. We will see you tomorrow." And hang up. |
Response #2: Maybe
Nobody ever replies with 'maybe' when attempting to set up an appointment. I use this word because it indicates that you still have some talking to do before you set the appointment. If the prospect request further information before agreeing to a time, you should use the following script WORD FOR WORD. "This is that supplement for the social security death benefits program for the final expenses. Basically all we do is sit down with you for a couple of minutes and see which plan you qualify for, from there... if you want it great. If not, chuck it in the trash. It doesn't make any difference to me. Just wait until I leave." This usually sparks a forced chuckle by the prospect and they will agree to setting the appointment. If they don't, use this additional close: "Is 10 o'clock okay or do you prefer a different time?" If your prospect replies with a time, then you simple say, "Alright, we will put you down for 10:00 o'clock. We will see you tomorrow." And hang up. |
Response #3: No
May times, your prospect doesn't remember sending in the card or they think you are a telemarketer. If this happens, attempt to remind them of the card. Say, "This is that card you mailed in a few weeks ago on the supplement for the social security death benefits program. Its a pink card that you printed your name on, phone number, and age. Ill make sure I bring it with me so you can see it. For most people, if they see it, it jogs their memory and they remember. Is 10 o'clock okay or do you prefer a different time?" If this does not work, abandon the appointment attempt and complete a "drop by" the following week. Only consider the lead 'No Good' if the prospect REMEMBERS SENDING IN THE CARD and asks you NOT to stop by. |
