- Charles Robert Buxton During this time of the year, lots of agents ask me if I work in the snow (rain, during the holidays, ect). It's not uncommon for there to be poor weather during the months of November to March.
My reply is always the same, "It depends on how much I need the money." I remember during my first year of sales, it was so cold and snowy outside that I couldn't hardly drive up the streets. I remember thinking to myself "this sucks!" However, I really had no choice. My bank account was low and I needed the money so I worked anyways. I think all too often we searched high and low for reasons of why we cannot go out and sell. This is backwards thinking. We should be looking for every reason TO go out and sell. Need more than that?... QUIT AND GO WORK RETAIL SALES! A couple of years ago I ran into a strange situation. I sold a policy to a gentleman who was married to a woman from Nicaragua. This is not abnormal in Southern California; however, the problem was the 50 year old black man could not speak Spanish with the 75 year old Nicaraguan women.

I spent the weekend with my Alaska obsessed father. Every summer he spends 1-2 weeks in Alaska fishing, hunting, and getting away from everyday life. It’s safe to say he LOVES Alaska and from what I’ve seen, what’s not to love? It’s absolutely beautiful. To feed his addiction for Alaska he watches every reality show available on the subject.
